Taught by the great masters and raised in Glasriket by the glassblowing elite, Micke Johan is extremely creative and has a unique artistic talent. This results in art glass that has never before been possible to produce. It is only now, with the ability to handle the 1000 degree glass mass on the glassblower's barrel and shape the glass with the techniques of ariel and graal, that this has become possible. He experiments and challenges the techniques. The Ariel technique, loosely translated as "spirit of air", was invented by Gustav Bergkvist in 1936 and is considered the absolute most difficult glassblowing technique.
A heavy turquoise colored vase with beautiful undulating floral motifs and hummingbirds made in a superb execution in one of the most difficult techniques that exist in art glass.
