Taught by the great masters and raised in Glasriket by the glassblowing elite, Micke Johan is extremely creative and has a unique artistic talent. This results in art glass that has never before been possible to produce. It is only now with the ability to handle the 1000 degree glass mass on the glassblower's barrel and shape the glass with the techniques of ariel and graal that this has become possible. He experiments and challenges the techniques. The Ariel technique, loosely translated as "spirit of air", was invented by Gustav Bergkvist in 1936 and is considered the absolute most difficult glassblowing technique. Ariel is an art glass developed from the Grail technique. In the ariel technique, a glass substance consisting of several layers of different colored layers is processed in transfer glass on the surface. The result is characterized by the inclusion of differently shaped air bubbles that form formations around the colored patterns in addition to patterns in different colors. The name comes from Ariel, the air spirit in Shakespeare's The Tempest. Micke Johansson has developed his own ariel technique, i.e. MJT (Micke Johan Johansson technique), and he is now the only master in the world who has mastered the MJT double ariel technique. What is very unusual about Micke Johansson is that he himself both blows, manufactures and shapes the art glass, and all this in world class, where everything is done to perfection.
